ELV Max Cube with Internet Connection Sharing

Hello everyone,
I want to setup up a home automation system based on ELV Max! devices in my flat. I have a notebook with Ubuntu 12.10 installed on it and a WLAN connection for the internet. I tried to connect the cube to internet through the ethernet port on my notebook, by enabling internet connection sharing. But the cube is unable to establish a connection, the internet light keeps flashing without getting stable. The Max Portal software is also unable to detect any cube. Any help would be appreciated in this regard.
