Low flow setpoint short-cycling

This is clearly not an OTGW question, but I wonder whether someone in this forum could help my understand my boiler's behaviour. If there's a better suited forum for this kind of question, I'd be grateful for pointers! The behaviour that I'm observing is that the boiler fires in irregular, short int...

Re: Setpoint vs. Boiler temperature mismatch

I have no idea whether that's really the case, but I think this could be due to the fact that your boiler can't get the heat into the house. The minimal modulation of your boiler is 8.5kW, which is quite a bit of energy. What happens is that a control set point is set, but after a little time, the f...

Re: Master OTC bit

Awesome, thanks for the explanation! ID3:HB4 was another bit that didn't make any sense to me.

Master OTC bit

Just on the off-chance that someone here knows more about this: Does the "OTC active" bit in the master status indicate whether the thermostat already applied OTC (weather compensation) and, therefore the boiler should not apply it, or is it the other way around, does "active" me...

Re: Pump speed

That's a good point - it probably is indeed irrelevant for a thermostat.

Pump speed

Does anybody happen to know whether there is an OpenTherm data ID for the CH pump speed? It doesn't seem to be in the version 2.2 specification, but I would imagine that there is one in later revisions. I would like to see that just so I can tell when and for how long the pump is running.

Re: Potential interface issue

Yes, my question was about the principle, not about this one particular rip-off :-) You're completely right, I mis-remembered the standard. It needs to be low, i.e. the inverted input would have to be high for 5 sec. I'll have to take some measurements, perhaps my output does go indeed go/stay high....

Potential interface issue

I'm running different MCUs than OTGW, but with the same type of inverted-master interface (Ihor Melnyk's). Since I'm developing new code, it sometimes happens that my MCUs crash. When that happens, the output pin seems to go low, and due to the inverted nature of the interface, it means that the OT ...
