I ordered 2 sample DS18S20+ sensors. They don't allow sampling the normal DS18S20's anymore...

I use an Arduino board with some mosfets and PWM to control a ledstrip.
With PWM you can control the colors of a RGB ledstrip, but also determine the brightness (its comes down to the same thing).

next some push buttons and a display to set the timer and view the current settings.

Just a little reminder, because I can't determine how you want to log: Keep in mind that logging on the Arduino itself is no problem when you use the internal memory of the arduino (using: http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/EEPROM). Don't save the settings in a variable inside the arduino sketch, becaus...
