Re: Install Fgs 212 dimmer

The attached image is based on standard UK wiring where Brown = Live, Blue = Neutral and Green/Yellow = Earth (Green in picture). If standard 2-core + earth cable is used to the switch location then it is common practice here that the blue core is sleeved in brown to signify that it is being used as...

Re: Install Fgs 212 dimmer

I assume you are referring to the FGD-212 dimmer? The connections will depend if the dimmer is installed in 2-wire or 3-wire mode. I have 3 of the FGD-212 dimmers installed in 2-wire mode with momentary switches. Assuming the electrical connections are correct, then parameter 20 should be set to 0 f...

Re: Virtual device for usage last day/week/month

The preferred method for controlling a Z-Wave device from a script would be hs.transmit. Sub Main(parm as object) hs.Transmit("Q74", "Dim", 50, 0, False, False ) End Sub In your example you have changed the status of the device within Homeseer but not actually transmitted anythin...

Re: Virtual device for usage last day/week/month

Even if you don't use this, perhaps it will help to give you an insight into scripting with Homeseer. I have attached a zip file containing a vb script and an ini file. Please Note: This is not fully tested but it is based on a script used in my system. I have purposely left out error checking (apar...

Re: Virtual device for usage last day/week/month

You can indeed use a Homeseer device for this puprose and in this case it would be fine, however my personal preference would be to use an ini file. My reason for this is that I do use quite a few calculated values within my Homeseer system like min / max values (with dates / times) plus trends etc ...

Re: Virtual device for usage last day/week/month

Not sure if the original poster was intending to learn some VB script or not, but I think a good understanding of the problem / solution is required. This is my take on the solution. In order to calculate accumulated values, you need to know what the previous reading was so that you can calculate by...

Re: Virtual device for usage last day/week/month

Perhaps I don't fully understand your requirements here. From what I understand Q3 is the accumulated total kWh device which is incremented every time the device updates. In your screenshot the device shows a status of 4788,37. hs.DeviceValue will return an integer value of 478837 for this device wh...

Re: Virtual device for usage last day/week/month

There are a number of ways to achieve this, but the simplest is probably to create some virtual devices for day, week, month and year. Create an event that triggers whenever the total kWh device changes. Run a script from this event that calculates how much energy has been consumed since the last ch...

Re: Z-Wave themperatuur/humidity meter or RFXCOM and Oregon

I've been using RFXCOM and a selection of Oregon sensors for about 5 years now and they have proved to be very reliable. I have 14 indoor T/H devices of various models and other Oregon outdoor weather sensors. I do occasionaly see communication errors because I have multiple sensors on the same chan...

Re: (Car) PC (for in boat)

There are a few Mini ITX boards that take 12v directly although I expect you would need to use some sort of regulator on the power supply depending on the stability of your boat's 12v system. I use one of these http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-board-dn...

Re: how to install the fibaro devices

Sorry. I assumed mono stable (momentary) switches in my first diagram. For bi stable switches the wiring should be as the above post by geert-jan. The Fibaro module also needs to be configured for bi stable switches (parameter 14) S2 is used when you want to control another device by association. In...

Re: how to install the fibaro devices

I can't see how the configuration in your diagram would work as you have 2 live wires going to the lamp.

This is how it should be wired. Brown=L Blue=N Orange=Switch

You can add as many switches as you need in this configuration.

Re: Samsung 830 Series 128GB

No RAID here either, just a single drive. The idea behind building a new machine was for Homeseer 3, if it ever appears :?: My intention was to have a completely fresh start rather than trying to update my existing system and I also wanted to see if I could build a unit with very low power consumpti...

Re: Samsung 830 Series 128GB

I'm using W7 32 bit on this new machine because the Intel DN2800 board I used does not have full support for X64.

At present I'm really only testing the new machine so my old unit running XP Pro is still my live system.

Re: Samsung 830 Series 128GB

A few weeks ago I built a new machine to run Homeseer and I used the 64GB 830 drive after reading a few decent reviews about it. I suppose only time will tell if it is reliable.
