Hello,

I hade bought a 3.3V USB cable with the pins..

so connected this to my toon like the guide wright. Pin 11 is the RXD. Pin 13 is the TXD and 14 is the GRN.
After that i plugged in my usb port from my computer. On device info it's on com3. checkt settings
115200 baud, 8 databits, No parity, 1 stopbit)

and then i plugged in the module for power at the back.. but putty stays black.
maybe i did something wrong?

Did you put the white one on pin 13 (that is RX on the cable and the TX on the toon) and the green on the pin 11 (TX on the cable and RX on the toon)? If still not working please paste a photo of how you connected it

You need to set your root password during rooting
btw, why not use the toonrooter script? It makes it easier for you.

Using the manual rooting guide you set the password during root when you changed the uboot setting to get into the /bin/sh login.
But you can still start the toonrooter script which will root your toon 'again' and set a password for you.

Yes, from here https://github.com/ToonSoftwareCollective/ToonRooter

But did you set the password or not? It's just one easy step and you are done.

Get back where you had the /bin/sh access and change your password in the /etc/passwd file
You need to put a crypted password in there. Read here how to get a crypted password: viewtopic.php?f=101&t=11230&p=92570&hil ... swd#p92570
