Only for beta users.
First update your Source to version to Plugwise Source 2.11 OTA beta Release 20091220. See topic http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.p ... 54&start=0
After that, use the update button again and the firmware update wizard will start.
Be aware that all plugs will switch off and on during firmware update procedure, so (with the firmware update wizard) NEVER HAVE YOUR COMPUTER in a Plugwise plug during the firmware update process. See also the post from Sebastiaan http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=4067

Plugwise Firmware 2.27, Release 20090908

Fixes:
- OTA validation fails

Plugwise Firmware 2

Changes:
- Updated ZigBee Pro stack
- Power up time less than 1 second
- Improved accuracy for current usage
- Improved clock sync between modules
- After a switch command or a power up, a switching schedule will be continued at the next state change in the schedule.
- Plugwise Switch support
- Switch command broadcast for groups
- Bidirectional power metering (Pro only)
- Configurable logging Interval (Pro only)

Notes:
- The memory of the modules is erased. Existing usage data not yet aquired by Source will get lost.
- Some firmware functionality might not (yet) be suported by your version of Source.
- Stick and Circle+ must have the same firmware base version (both version 1 or both version 2)
- You can add version 1 modules to a version 2 network, but not vice versa.
- In a version 2 network, version 1 modules must be updated to versions 2 to be used in Source.

Just wondering, I don't see any replies to this thread, does that mean that people have updated without any problems, or is everybody eagerly waiting until somebody else tries....

Just updated the firmware on my network (9 instances, including the stick and circle+).

It took 40 minutes in total. There were no problems. :-)

Ok, I decided to go ahead, but the updater didn't like the idea:
Current FW versions

Source detects an update:

Displays the current version and new version:
3_PW_Available Versions.jpg
3_PW_Available Versions.jpg (72.15 KiB) Viewed 17369 times
And then the updater, in all it's wisdom, decides there is no update required:
4_PW_NO.jpg
4_PW_NO.jpg (9.97 KiB) Viewed 17369 times
Not sure what's next, I guess just wait for the next Beta....

First update your (beta) Source to the latest Plugwise Source 2.12 Release 20091224
Than rerun the update en the firmware update should work (if you are a beta firmware user).

Thanks Reinder,

At the time of my attempts (I tried multiple times) 20091220 was the most current one available. It was probably just bad timing, since ti looks like plugwise was changing releases on their server.....

Anyways, I've now updated successfully to the current release (20091224) and updated the firmware as well. The process was really slow (took a couple of hours), main reason was probably that the connectivity appears not te be optimal over here. Especially the circle took quite a few retries, but all in all I'm satisfied with the robustness of the process.

Two comments:
- As with the source upgrades, the upgrader is not allowing you to press "finish" when everything is completed, it just ends. This gives initially the impression that something is wrong. I would rather see a message that confirms that everything is well (along with a summary) and let the user handle the "finish" of the updater.

- It was mentioned that the connectivity between the circles is better, but I'm not convinced, some of my circles have still issues. I will monitor this, maybe the zigbee network sorts itself out. I also added more plugs, I guess that will help as well.

Yesterday I have also done the update.
Update time was almost 3 hour for 35 plug

Building of the network was running almost 12 hour..still no network.
I have stopped the process an run the config manual.

Hope the network will start again and I can use my collected data form last 2 years.

Found the problem.
When I plugin the circle + it will click direct. normal time of the click is after 30 seconds
going try to rebuild the network again with the test circle+ that I own

Update:
Network is only adding modules that are new..This means that I have to rest all the modules before the mash network can build up..

@Reinder are there any other possibilities when the Circle+ is broken?

Just upgraded all my modules to the latest firmware.
It took about 4 hours for 39 modules. As far as I can see now everything went smooth and works fine now.

Tomorrow I plan to upgrade the firmware of my circles.

This post has been quiet for a while, so I assume the are no real issues with the beta firmware ??

Thanks,
Rien

last post was 2010...

What do you want to achieve? updating the source software or the circles?

there is no support (from plugwise) for the source software or the stick and circles

I still have one plug I never used. Wanted to update it recently, as windows 7 is EOL soon too, just to be sure.

It detects outdated firmware, however the update button is 'grey' (in v2.23).
Today I downloaded a new version of 'source' to try again. Source is now v2.40, has a new logo and new color, but the update button still gets greyed-out shortly after the program started.

Any Idea on how to update to the latest firmware version? This new plug has 2009 firmware, my other plugs have different versions of 2011 firmware.

I now have checked all 'spy' settings, as unchecking them also blocked upgrading in the past, unfortunately that did not work this time.
