Roomnode displaying wrong Temp

Post by jakkes »

I followed the "manual" for the Homeseer Intergration of Jeenode.
In the homeseer log i see values:
4-12-2010 15:01:56 JeeData 5,1,4,1,0,2,Off ,0,On ,1,
4-12-2010 15:01:56 JeeData processDevValues
4-12-2010 15:01:56 JeeData Off 0On 1
4-12-2010 15:02:57 JeeData 5,2,0,0,0,-396,0,

But the temp is a bit off.... it gives on the status page in Homeseer -396...., and no further info is displayed...

When i place the rooms sketch on the jeenode it gives the correct values in the serial monitor....

Unplug the room board, turn it 180 degrees, plug it in and try again.
Now the PIR should be above the RF12 module.
Or change the port numbers in the sketch.
That should solve it!

if all things where that easy....
But why was it giving correct values with another sketch? (connected via USB)

The other sketch will have the port numbers correct for your first "orientation" : the software must match the physical connection of the roomboard to the JeeNode. This is the right way for the Workshop-related sketches:

I had the same problem.
Searched for a long time, why did my old roomnodes not work correct with the new sketch?
Putting the old sketch back again, and it worked!

then Jc told me to plug the roomboard the other way around.......

next question......:
The roomnode works with an external battery, but not with the AA Board as displayed on the photo from Digit...
The voltage measures ok on the AA board and on the JeeNode...

There are solderjoints on the board, but it seems they are not that well documented...?

With roomnode, do you mean a sketch named roomnode, or a combination of Room board and JeeNode?
What is "the" board? Which solderjoints do you mean?

IOW: could you be a bit more specific?

with roomnode i meant the jeenode and the roomboard, powered by an external batterypack (3 times AA)
When i switch the external batterypack for the AA board, it doesn't work anymore....
On the AA board there is SJ1 solderjoint.
Als when i use another jeenode and the bridgeboard, i have problems with the AA board.
I used the USB BUB for putting the blink sketch in the jeenode, and the led start blinking.
When i remove the USB BUB and use the AA board, there is nog blink anymore.
(Battery on the AA board is new, and allready switch with another....)

EDIT:
found one error....: had to turn the AA board 180 degrees, than it works when connected to the bridgeboard.

OK, nice to hear you found it; I couldn't remember those solderjoints; mine are unused.
Here (http://cafe.jeelabs.net/lab/aa1/) I found some more information about those solderjoints, it says:
There's one solder jumper, which can be left open in most cases. If connected, it will determine to which power source the PWR pin is attached: BAT+ (i.e. on-board battery) or +3V (i.e. output of boost regulator)

I suspect it's this: http://cafe.jeelabs.net/first_steps/#index11h2 and this http://talk.jeelabs.net/topic/644

The JeeNode v5 added a diode. In hindsight, that was a mistake. It has caused more confusion than I thought. I'm considering leaving the diode out of the kit in the future, given also that it is fairly hard to place on the board (the holes are almost too small).

Thanks jcw,

That could explain that when i connect the jeenode and the bridgeboard, and power it via the bridgeboard works. And not working when connecting the jeenode and the aa board...

I lost my working sketch somehow..... I tried finding a working (including HS2 via RF12) version but am unable to find one.
Is there someone who has a working version?
