How do you control your kettle than? What is the reason you replaced the NT20E?

With the Evohome Evotouch. For now this is the only way. Another way to control it will be added; what exactly, hasn't been decided yet. It involves either a soldering iron or yet another thermostat...

The reason for replacing the NT20E is that modulation keeps the floor at a more constant temperature, which increases comfort a lot; enough to keep it at that (modulation).

Did anyone try to find out how firmware upgrades in the Cube work? Perhaps even capture a firmware image during the upgrade process? I'd like to see if the firmware can be dissected, see what's inside.

One addition to my last post: I pulled the MacOS application apart and there doesn't seem to be a firmware image in there (unless they hid it inside a java class file). My suspicion is that the application just always gets the latest firmware version from some webpage, downloads the image and sends it to the cube. That's why I talked about "capturing" the firmware image :-)

Take a look in MaxSettings.jar - there is a file called "firmware.enc".
It is ASCII/Hex coded - means "0112..." is "0x01 0x12 ..."
The file is sent, while firmware upgrade (I sniffed ist with lan-sniffer). But Im afraid it is encrypted

Hmm, I don't remember seeing the MaxSettings.jar file in the DMG file. Where did you find that MaxSettings.jar file (perhaps it was downloaded by the tool after upgrade)?. In any case, I'll take a closer look next week.

So i got the homeseer scripts up and running, besides a few things that i thing should be the other way around it still displays an error with "System date & Time" but i can control them.

But i do have a question about the devices itself, i've set them to 20 degrees to go on at a certain time but it just keeps the radiator turned on.. should it not detect 20 degrees and stop heating? If i turn it to 17 degrees then it stops with heating so it does know how far out the pin needs to be. Am i missing something?

Maybe it isn't 20 degrees there where the Radiator Thermostat is? Temperature at floor level is lower than 1.50m above the floor, for example. So it is possible that the thermostat measures a different temp.
For that, you can adjust an "offset" for each Radiator Thermostat individually.

Need to tweak it then a little, its too warm.. the thermostat are at mid level so it should be fine. I actually closed a room and it was really like walking into a brick wall of heat (so its not like it cannot sense it) :P

So digit, what is your offset? Since i really thinks its too big here :P if i put them at 18.5 degrees they stop heating.. with a offset of 1. Normally its around 20 to 21 in my eyes.
