Diehl Sharky 775 heating meter

Post by jokkemokke »

Hello.

Have anyone here had success communicating with af Diehl Sharky 775 heating meter via the optical interface? If so, I would appreciate some details of which hardware and software you have used for this.

I have not been able to find much details about this meter, but according to this document: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... Ht3oN-Y_PR it should be possible to communicate with M-Bus over the optical interface. However, I have not been able to get it working.

I have tried to install libmbus (https://github.com/rscada/libmbus) on a linux pc and connected an optical probe to the USB port of the PC. The probe I used did not modulate the signal, meaning that the diode was simply turned on for 1 and turned off for 0. No success.

Later I tried to use a homemade probe which used 38 kHz modulation, meaning that it sent a 38 kHz signal for 1 and was turned off for 0. This also did not work.

In the description of the Sharky meter they describe that the optical interface is a ZVEI interface. What does ZVEI means? I have not been able to find much details about this.

If anyone could give me a push in the right direction it would be highly appreciated :)
