Hmmm, but the 3rd gen Nest Learning Thermostat does support the Opentherm (communication) protocol.
The problem is that they only implemented the protocol but not a modulating control algorithm. It still uses an on–off control algorithm, probably the same used on the 1st and 2nd gen Nest Learning Thermostat.

yes its a bit opentherm, not sure how far they implemented it?
lots of things are not working on the opentherm gateway
so half implemented, perhaps it will do for the mass but not for us control freaks :)
also wandering how efficient the NEST really is.....

Does anyone know if there have been improvements regarding to OT and the Nest the last couple of years?
