ZonOpToon alternative

Post by TerrorSource »

Hi guys,

I found an interesting way to do the ZonOpToon cheaper then the usual way.
Someone pointed me to the KWH1073PRO fuse box module, as a replacement for an official ZonOpToon fuse box module.
shop1: https://mdhelektroshop.nl/dmmetering-kw ... p-u-mid-23
shop2: https://www.installatievakwinkel.nl/ine ... kwh1073pro (slightly cheaper)

1. Buy it
2. Put it in the fuse box
3. Connect 1 analog wire to the module and the meteradapter
4. change the value's of "SolarDisplay" and "SolarActivated" in scsync.xml in 1 (instead of 0)
5. Reboot the toon
6. Wait untill the sun's up :)

Hi,

Does this work on any(native) TOON or do I have to use the TOON as a domotica controller

Thx,
Rien

Should work on Toon itself. no need to connect any other domotica systems.

Those are the exact ones that Eneco installs:

single phase: Inepro PRO1
triphase: Inepro PRO380-S

You could even use much cheaper version like on https://www.kwhmeter.nl/Webwinkel-Produ ... A-LCD.html
(the problem with those cheap onces is that they also count usage in the other direction, so during the night when the inverter is still taking 1 or 2 watts standby. This will then count as 'solar generated power'.

Also, remember that the impulse rate is lower on the cheaper ones but you can change that in the Toon (2000 imp/kwh instead of 10.000 imp/kwh). Making it a less precise.

I'm not sure if connecting the Toon module with a wire to the meter works. The usual way is to use the optic sensor of the module and face it in front of of the led in the meter.

Wiring to an S0 contact should work, will try and find my notes about the wiring. This takes some digging, it's been almost two years ...

Would be nice. Toon's connection is a standard 3.5mm stereo audio jack but the s0 has only two connections so I am curious how this should be connected. I once tried to emulate the S0 using direct wire tot the module 3-point jack but couldn't get the Toon to recognize my input.

Hello Toonatics,

I also was interested in the option "zon op Toon" of course i want to install this myself, as an electrician this may not be an difficult job.
And it is not to difficult if you are a little handy you can do it yourself, the most difficult part is to extend, the fuse box with a Kwh measuring, This is a skilled job and needs to be don by a qualified electrician !!!!!

In my case the solar panels com in the fuse box trough the installation fuse breaker and trough the Kwh measuring, and so to the grid
The Kwh measuring is in this case a Three Phase measuring (SDM630-xxxxx), ofcourse this could be a mono phase Kwh measuring( with impulse led for optical measuring).
My SDM-630-modbus type has two separate S0 outputs (1 fixed, and 1 Programmable), only this i did not use, because the Toon measuring adaptor is connected by the P1 to the Grid Kwh of the energy company, the analog input of the sensor is free and is now the input for the "Zon op Toon" configuration.
see the pictures for details about this feature
The sensor is directly covering the control impuls led on the front of the Kwh (this should be able to be done on one of the the S0 output) i my self haven't test this.

verify of the "zon" is enabled ad " instellingen "
Select the proper pulse count ad "instellingen"
and pick one of tile to display zon op Toon, and you would benefit the option "zon op Toon"

Hello forummembers,

The above explenation looks easy to install/configure.
Can someone provide information regarding the optical sensor? The missing link at the moment is mounting the correct sensor. Maybe type, brand or serial.

Found my notes ;-)

The optical sensor is an RPR-220-PC30N, with 470 nm light source.
It's basically used as an opto-coupler for the S0-signals. Will try and post the wriring tomorrow, if all else fails it will be a picture taken from my notepad (pen-and-paper style).

Hallo Toonatics,

To clear out wich optic sensor i used for "zon op Toon" this is the standard electric optic sensor that comes original with Toon.
And because the measuring read out is by the P1 port, thereby this optical sensor is over and therefore useful for read in the pulse count.

RED.

I think I root my TOON first (ordered at cable )

Unfortunately I trowed away my TOON box with the optic sensor cable last month. :(

Does anyone of you have a spare one or isn't using the cable, I'll be more than happy to take it over.
Or can I make a cable by myself?

At last,

What KWH din rail module should I order and how do I connect it to the TOON ?

Many thanks in advance,

Rien
