I keep getting the message that there is not enough disk space. How can I gain some space?

A normal toon should not use too much space so:
- either you are storing files yourself which you should now delete
- or you have too many custom apps running

Also with

Code: Select all

du -sm /*
you can figure out which directories are using the most space.

Because the Toon stucks at 33% (Gui not loading), I've tried to reinstall the Gui (Forced). Opened the VPN and downloaded the files, but I keep getting messages that there is not enough disk space.

Removed the OPKG cache, but now I get the next error * pkg_get_installed_files: Failed to open //usr/lib/opkg/info/kernel-image.list: No such file or directory

I hope you made a backup of your 'opkg-cache'. I think you removed the opkg database. Now it doesn't know what it installed or not.

Uboot: Toon has U-Boot version 2010.09-R10

Firmware 5.5.7

But I can't acces the Toon via SSH although it has been rooted. Now I connected it to my Rpi in bootmode only. Can I gain acces via the serial port?

SSH isn't working anymore either?? What did you do? Looks like you are making it worse every step. And you are also now way off topic. There are enough topics about how to recover a not booting Toon. Try there.

 I will try....... Only thing i did was copying the kernel.images list form a working Toon to this one. Now it won't boot any further, The upgrade script works fine. Ik get the message that it has been rooted, but when i boot the Toon, it only shows the logo and then it stops. I can't reach the Toon over my network.......

Last week i run the update script on two Toons: once from the second last firmware and once from firmware 4.16.8.

The update from the second last firmware went smooth but by the update from firmware 4.16.8 the proces hang at some point.

Following the instructions from mAiden did the job to get a working Toon back, thanx.
Homey, rooted Toon 1 and HomeAssistent.

Requirements:

1: 3.3V serial-to-USB cable, with separate header connectors for TxD,
RxD and GND (or a ttl-to-serial-adapter when you are using a native serial
port).

2: A computer with serial terminal software like putty and a
free USB port (or a free serial port).

serial port (3.3V logic levels, ttymxc0, 115200 baud, 8N1):

pin 11: RxD
pin 12: ??
pin 13: TxD
pin 14: GND

Make sure the component side of the PCB is accessible. Connect toon
to a power supply (boiler module + power adapter) and power it up.

You need to get a serial console now, otherwise you dont know what happends at the back from Toon :)
