Possibility to "tap" thermostaat data

Post by Erik007 »

Hi

I have an old CV, a Nefit Ecomline and a special Moduline thermostat
I believe the thermostat does some kind off moduline the temperature, i think
But because it is not using openterm, i can only use on off regulating with the toon
Because of that i think it is a going down in comfort and dont want to do this.

So a few questions:
Can i get the messages from the thermostat, like heat wanted/ not wanted to the toon
And another question, if i don't need the "ketelmodule" can toon work directly to 24 Volts?

Thanks

No you can't. There is no known interpreter voor the moduline communcation as far as I know off. You probably can put a moduline to opentherm converter in between. mAiden knows best about this.

You can't hook the Toon to the 24 volts directly as this will not switch the boiler 'aan/uit'. There is no communication going on on the 24 volts line then and your Toon will complain about missing ketelmodule.

On / off is the only option you have with a Nefit Ecomline and Toon. UBA that is in is, too old to be able to get over with an OpenTherm Converter..

There's a possibility to roll your own, but it takes quite some effort:

I hope he have a Nefit EcomLine Elite then marcelr.. older sub types (like: Nefit EcomLine models like the VR24V, HR(C), Economy, HRC23VT.) often have the old iRT bus for it :)
