Since my Toon2 the traffic info app doesn't work anymore.
I get the following error:
"Verkeersinformatie ophalen mislukt. Geen internet verbinding" while all other apps work just fine. So no issue with the internet connection.
Anyone else with this problem?

Already removed and reinstalled the app and reboot but without succes......

same here. Traffic data is retrieved from http://xml.fileindex.nl/ but that site is not responding at the moment (also not with https).

DNS lookup doesn't resolve anymore....

No, and not expecting it to be resolved. It seems the service has been discontinued.
I blocked the app for new installs via the ToonStore, you can only uninstall.

will a new app be released?

only if you can find a new free source of traffic info I can make a new app

none of these give a clean xml or json feed.
Will have to scrape the html source, is possible but quite some work. Which need to be redone each time they change their website

ahh get it, you're looking for XML or json format.

EDIT:app works again but I need to redesign the screen with traffic jam details because the info provided has a different structure. It also has a section for 'flitsers' but I need to check whether that will be populated during the day (is empty now)

I get an error that it doesn't work on 5.13.12 firmware. Can 't reinstall the app.

Can you try logging in via SSH and do a "opkg remove fileinfo" ? Reboot afterwards.
That should remove the Fileinfo app so you can re-install it after the reboot.

EDIT: Don't do this, see next post from Toonz

currently you can only uninstall the app via the ToonStore for the simply reason that the current app in the ToonStore doesn't work anymore due to the data source being unavailable. When the new app is completed it will be available through the ToonStore again.

Manual installation of the current version is unnecessary and completely useless
