Hi guys,
I have a u-boot R10 Toon with an old OS, so I can't use the wireless rooting method. I borrowed a Toon and the ToonRoot script also fails on this Toon. The bootloader replacement seems to be working, but after the reboot of the bootloader the script ends with an input/output error.
So I would like to follow the manual rooting procedure, but there I'm getting stuck. The procedure talks about opening a serial console, to capture the password prompt. But how do I open a serial console on a Raspberry? I have a FTDI adapter, but I can't connect that to the Toon, because the pins are already used by the Raspberry...
Thanks for any help in advance!
Kind regards,
Eric

Re: Manual rooting U-boot R10 Toon
Please keep using toonrooter. Don't go down the rabbit hole you think you need to go.
Just read the readme of toonrooter because I think you just forget to read evertyhing. The solution for your input/output problem is there.

Hi @TheHogNL,
You're right (of course), I wasn't reading the readme properly and I forgot the serial port/console step. I executed it and now it's working. Thanks!
Kind regards,
Eric
