I think this will be something that can work great in a home automation environment.
Pity i do not know how to code but i can see the potential and the price is maybe even better for what it all has to offer.

Although it looks much cheaper than a RaspberryPI you still need to add VGA/HDMI and Network (Wired) for it to be equal. I think therefore a Pi is a better choice

Yes but once programmed you can take off the hdmi or vga converter and there is always the video line out on it,
resolution isn't the best but for setting up it could work.
