Re: Hardware: Toon display module
The "Toon display module" gets his power from the "ketel module" unit.
When this unit is not available what power supply is needed for the "Toon display module"?
Can the "Toon display module" work with third party Opentherm "ketel modules"?
The "Toon meter adapter" uses a Z-Wave protocol witch is not compatible witch Open Z-Wave.

24VDC, a few Watts will do. Polarity is not important.LeonS wrote:The "Toon display module" gets his power from the "ketel module" unit.

Nope, toon has its own protocol for communication with the boiler adapter. The boiler adapter speaks OpenTherm with the boiler.LeonS wrote:Can the "Toon display module" work with third party Opentherm "ketel modules"?
Could be, haven't seen any tests on this yet.LeonS wrote:The "Toon meter adapter" uses a Z-Wave protocol witch is not compatible witch Open Z-Wave.

So without the boiler adapter the display is pretty useless!Nope, toon has its own protocol for communication with the boiler adapter. The boiler adapter speaks OpenTherm with the boiler.
See my post in "Meter Adapter" section, I was unsuccessful getting readings in Domoticz on Raspberry Pi and Vision Z-Wave USB stick.Could be, haven't seen any tests on this yet.
Open Zwave forum confirmed incompatible;e classes.
Faster processor
Hi all,
I did read somewhere that it is possible to install a faster processor in Toon.
Current CPU is a Freescale i.MX27 at 400.168 MHz.
Difficult to decide for me which processors are compatible (at higher clock speed) at nxp.com
Any tips?
Kind regardz,
Toonz

Re: faster processor
The processor on toon is a MAPBGA package, having 400+ contacts at the bottom, soldered onto the PCB. It beats me how you will remove that part in such a way that you can replace it with another. And, processor capacity IMHO is not the main issue in toon's hardware. If you really want to improve performance, I'd go for the RAM chip.
