you can download the calendar in your browser and check the size.
What is 'too big' is dependent on the other installed apps and available memory.
Typically old entries of (specifically google calendars) are not purged regularly.

That would be my first tip: check your calendar and remove expired entries.
The app needs to read all entries to be able to check if there are recurring items which have valid entries in the future to be displayed

I just found something in relations to an API for the Google calender. In the API based on Python I found some code which seems to make it possible to download/view calender events on a specific moment, for example "today".
This is the link where I found this information:
https://developers.google.com/calendar/ ... art/python

Can something be done with this information?

The Kalender app is designed to read generic ICS files from any provider.
In principle this google api can be implemented but that would be usefull only for google calendars.
I don't think I will implement it unless someone has compelling reasons why it should be done.
Another disadvantage is that you will need to store your google logon credentials on Toon.

Ok, I understand, thought it would helpfull so that not the entire ICS file has to be downloaded first, since it gives me a lot of performance issues.
But point taken about the credentials on Toon

Performance is probably a valid point.
On the other hand, Google is lacking any archiving functionality for old items, that's the real issue in my view.

Maybe, when I have time, I will see if I can implement this.
First need to do some waste calendar maintenance

Hi :)

I have a few questions about how to get the calendar working and for what I have found I need a Google URL to my private cal. (which I have found and copied to my pc)

Then I need to copy this link in the userSettings, json file but where can I find that file on the Toon ?
I have searched and can not find it ? should i copy that file ? I have downloaded the json zipped file in post 3 or 4 ? from this topic .

you can find the userSettings.json file in /qmf/qmf/apps/calendar after installation of the calendar app

N.B. there will be a next release soonish where this json file will be moved to /mnt/data/tsc

Hi again Toonz :)

Found the map and the json file, there is already an entry in it with the Dutch holidays, which I like to keep :) is it possible to add my private agenda to it ?

I guess its just copy paste and replace the http.... with my own or am I wrong ?

Can you give me an example ?

For the people who are facing the issue of a large calendar due to history (my calander went back to 2012, which caused the toon to continious reboot when downloading the calendar), this app is a great help; you can clean your calendar from a specifick date.
If you would like to keep the history you could make an export & import before deleting.

When started the app it said it was an older app not optimized for my device (s8) but it worked perfectly.

I reinstalled the app on toon (in the search of troubleshooting), and now everytime i change the usersetting file, my changes are undone when the toon is rebooted?
Just the public holidays calender is in the file after that?
