Re: Toon Recovery

Post by Peter1612 »

I rooted a toon and updated to the newest version.
Then i had 0 installed apps in the toon store so i ran the update -f script
now it hangs on the splash screen.
I made a connection with toonrecovery and it says its started so i need to connect by serial for the menu.

But i get this respond:

Cannot exec '/dev/ttyS0': Bestand of map bestaat niet

/dev/ttyS0 is not a command. You need screen or minicom or something similar to connect to your serial port (can be /dev/serial, /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyUSB0 or similar).

Re: Toon Recovery

Can someone help me please?

I did follow all the manuals over the internet because none of them are complete to Recover my Toon.
after 2 days of testing and trying i have my setup ready.

and now i don't get the recovery menu as described in the manual.

my ssh connection to execute the commands on my PI give me only this message: INFO:recovery:Waiting for Toon to restart
I did used the reset button on my toon but it stay on this message and don't got the recovery menu.
I started a serial terminal on my pi also to view the traffic between the pi and the toon. but it looks toon starts normal and does not start from NFS.

What the hack is wrong with my setup?

Hi,

I did got it to work now.
The problem was that the shared folders was not accessible from external client.
the reason was that you have to do some more steps to got it to work than explained in the manual.

If you like i can, when i have time write an manual for these steps to got things work.

Best regards,

Hello The Hogh & All,

I have a non booting Toon1 on which I performed the ToonReovery procedure with Rasperry3. This worked well without errors.

After the process I connected a TTL to USB converter to the Toon pins 11/13/14 and a PC with terminal program.

I don't see the Toon Recovery Environment menu but a rolling list of linux boot messages.
Can you advice what is happening and how to get into the Toon Recovery Environment menu?

Thanks in advance, Ko

First you say you have done the toonrecovery succesfully and then you say you don't seen the toon recovery menu and show a normal boot. After a succesfull toonrecoveyr you should just ssh to the toon and not expect a new menu again.
