Well, using the upgrade script to force to go to 4.20.7 seems to have fixed it for me. Thanks for all your help!
Yes. The getty messages is because you didn't use the patched busybox. But that is only needed to connect to the toon over serial.
As SSH is working don't worry about it now
The qt respawing to fast is probably you made an error putting the resource file in the correct place. What is the content of your /qmf/qml directory? (ls -las /qmf/qml/)
