I would like to bring this discussion back to where it started:
The commercial passive x10 filters commercially available in EU are very expensive for what is found in the package; a few coils, some capacitors, a resistor maybe. It's been designed of course and the plastic house will cost some.
But 60 euro's for 2 euro's worth of electronics?
The filter itself is supposed to be a notch or band-stop filter, that's all.
As far as I can judge the above mentioned design is one, there are other designs too. What's missing is the actual values for the various parts.
Did anybody ever measured those coils?
Also, I checked:
http://tonnesoftware.com/elsie.html
Using Elsie you can design various fairly simple filters that should or could do the job.
I have no electronics background, but it seems straightforward. Anybody ever tried this?
It would be nice and rewarding to build your own wouldn't it?
X10 filter technology
Re: X10 filter technology
Is this off topic?
Yes, of course FM10 filters and work great, but after #14 FM10-filters my budget has gone.
Perhaps there is an other solution: XPRN noise reduction.
See: http://www.thehomeautomationstore.com/xpnr.html
I did not try this.
But the are Cheap and you can put them in the case of an appliance (e.g. TL-armature).

Re: X10 filter technology
9.99 usd, it means cheap and simple construction ! is it good for european 220V too?
Re: X10 filter technology
Hi Lorenzo, I wanted to attach a Help in .PDF but that is not allowed.
You can find the usermanual here: http://www.thehomeautomationstore.com/xpnr.html#
Under the TAB: SPECIFICATONS.
Yes, you can use it on the 240 Volt system.

Hi Verkenner, That's kind of you Thanks for info
Re: X10 filter technology
Looking good but might be a challenge toe build in with these dimensions 1.25" in diameter, 2.5" long (31,8mm x 63,5mm)
