About the nefit, any model numbers or urls? Also, to get some information about it whats the best thing to go for (i can still choose all the c.v. stuff)

While i'am at it.. the dome camera's you normally hang them upside down right? but in my house there is no place to hang it upside down. So what are sollutions?

Dear Bwired,
what is the state of art of your wish "An fully operational opentherm connection with my Hvac system (Nefit)" ?.
I am Interested to that kind of interface.

Amelia.

Can you be more specific about this implementation ??
I have a Nefit Ecomline HR Classic with a ModuLine 400 thermostat and the heating system is pretty much the only thing I haven't automated yet !!

Thanks,

Rien

Hi All,

Still busy on the opentherm interface with my Nefit HRC24/CW4 and I think it will continue for a while because it is very difficult to do. I am now busy with the Nefit Service key to communicate with the NEFIT Hvac system. The service key has Infrared, bluetooth and RS232 or USB. So lots of possibilities to communicate. I can get a lot of data with this key out of my Nefit HVAC. Now I am busy grabbing the protocol etc.

For now I'm still controlling the Nefit HRC24 with a Xanura SAX15 which I have build in my Hvac (heating) system. If I switch this actor on with my system, the thermostat also says the heating is on, this is because of the opentherm protocol the Hvac is using. Its not optimal because if the thermostat puts the heating on, I'm not able to switch it off with the SAX15. You can connect any relay or in my case the Xanura SAX15 to connector 1 and 2 of the Nefit HRC24 HVAC system. his a is a potential free (potentiaalvrij ?) connector.
They are right below the connectors 2 and 3 where your thermostat goes in.
With this option I'm now also able to control my Nefit heatingsystem with my cellphone (sms and by web)

To dig up an ancient topic: Did you ever manage to talk to the Nefit boiler?

Not with opentherm and for sure not with a Nefit

Ever try sniffing the data between a thermostat and the boiler using a logic analyser or just a simple serial UART? I might try that route, if nobody tried that before...

you can try that, but be aware that you need a Nefit thermostat to get the hvac going otherwise it goes in error
on this forum there is a topic about this, will try to find it.
Did not work for me, but i have to admit my exact expertise is not there :)

Hmm, that sounds a lot more complicated than I had hoped for... Robert's blogpost about just needing a RS232->TTL convertor to talk to his Remeha using Opentherm got me hoping that I could get away with a simple USB UART (TTL serial port), but this is probably going to be more complicated... Oh well, perhaps I should just settle for simple on/off switching initially and then just replace the boiler in the near future :-)

In any case, thanks for digging up that document!

maybe this is a solution, 0-10V control instead of data transfer.
