Not quite what you are asking, but I am very happy with the HS plugin and a software player on the HS server. Control through HSTouch (not the webinterface but the general listbox as for WMP and iTunes) as well as iPeng.

BTW: I do not use it myself, but as a bonus the HS plugin allows you to stream TTS announcements to your squeezeboxes.
