Your question should be "Why do you want a roomba?". It's the same question for domotica. But you know that

Why do I need a Roomba?
It should make life easier and take less time to clean the house. I suppose that it’s no absolute need but a wannahave. My only concern is that it really works and it’s not necessary that I also use the normal vacuum cleaner.
What about:
Noise level?
Frequency of emptying dustbin?
Maintenance level (how often to clean e.g. brushes)?
How much time does it take to clean 45m2?

LOL: Agree; I'm the boss in the Bwired house. if i say i clean the floor then I Clean the floor.
Run the Roomba at night, does not matter how long it takes to do (between 1 a 2 hours according plugwise)
I cant hear the noise upstairs, but sometimes we hear the noise of bumping (sounds like a burglar)
Yes I dont like to empy the basket, to small in my system (like after 3, 4 times cleaning)
New Roomba's are having bigger waste basket (or 2?)
Clean all the hairs between the wheels
I'm running the roomba for 2 years now and had to replace the battery, nothing else sofar.

Nice thing about the roomba is, you think your floor is clean, but the the Roomba takes a lot of dust anyway.
I also have a cleaning lady once a week and she loves the roomba too
still very happy with my roomba
Would like to connect it to the Jeenode.......

What i'm happy about is indeed the dust. With a normal vacuum cleaner the dust will spread around the room because of the airflow. That isn't the case with the Roomba.

You still need to use a normal vacuum cleaner from time to time but far less
A roomba can't get everwhere.
What about:
Noise level?
Acceptable but you can't have a normal conversation next to it
Frequency of emptying dustbin?
Tile floor, no pets
I'll do it after every 2 runs
Maintenance level (how often to clean e.g. brushes)?
I clean the roomba every 2 months and when emptying the dushbin i olso move my fingers over the charging contacts.
Just a habbit
How much time does it take to clean 45m2?
About 1h30m to 2 hours
It does the bathroom, utility room, kitchen, living room and the hall.
I leave all doors open and let it wander around
