Migrate from Homeseer 3 to Fibaro Home Center 2?

Did anyone migrate from Homeseer 3 to Fibaro Home Center 2?

I currently use plugwise, z-wave, philips hue, rfxcom, sonos, xbmc mainly.
As far as i know i can migrate everything except rfxcom, but that are some temp / humi meters.

Who has gone to this progress and what are the experiences?

One of the biggest reasons to migrate for me is the nightmare called HStouch.

Well, if you want nightmares, than read the fibaro forum. I thought about migrating as well. But the main fibaro system doesnt look stable enough reading the fibaro forum.

My solution: i bypassed the hstouch interface with a webbased interface of my own using the API of hs3.

There are some people on this forum who migrated and migrated back. They can probably tell their reasons.

I am going to follow the fibaro workshop which hashop.nl is giving in december. If your Dutch thats an option. Its cheap and i know that the owner of hashop is a long time member of the forum. I did a workshop with him years ago and i realy enjoyed it.

I know Enver as well.. the only thing is i have some time contstraints on 12 december..
But if possible i will attend also.

It _seems_ that the new 4.x software of the HC2 is more stable.

I try it but I'm back to HS3 again. More stable and more plugins etc.
No more migrate....to HC for me.

Do you have some more details about the problems you encountered?

I have hc2 too, the reason is also that the iphone/android apps just work. No need to make fancy menu's its just 1 type. I am fine with that since i don't want to invest more time on that. Sure rfxcom doesn't work, but thats only for temperature (you get those plenty from other devices / zwave too)

But if you want more plugins, they will at some point release a version where people can make their own plugins, once that starts to come along i think it will be more valuable and people will just create the plugins they are missing.

If your fine with hs3, just stay there. Only if you see a real benefit of moving around you should do it. Every systems has its pro's and cons. HS3 = needs a lot of time, HC2 needs less. Also looks a lot nicer on HC2, while HS3 is more techie based, but also the new look and feel is already outdated in my eyes. But hstouch allows more custom again.. while hc2 has more out of the box and works stuff (if you take their devices) and ofcourse price. But for hc2 you do get a box, homeseer needs to run on "a" box you supply, unless you buy their box too (which i would never do)

I've just migrated from Homeseer 2 and my old X10 system to HC2.
It's about 80% done now, and loving this new system. (not that this is really hard coming from X10)

The Fibaro app for the mobile phone (in my case Android) works great!
Same thing for the Android tablet.
At the moment I'm also testing ImperiHome, and this looks even better (for me)

The workshop from Enver convinced me to switch, so be warned :-)

I joined the workshop today. Since I want less maintenance time for my home automation and I was curious.

I was impressed by the interface of fibaro. It had some Nice out of the box features:

Push messaging (plugin at homeseer)
User management (hotel function)
You can give in the wattage of the device you switch so it shows usage
No need for a weather system; yahoo weather data is used

What I also like is that configuring fibaro nodes works good since all parameters are explained.

There quit some plugins available, eventhough not everyone is fully functional.

I liked the hclite device, so small but capable.

If you want more features like scripting and better/plugins though scripting you need the hc2 instead of hclite.

About instability; I saw some glitches but they where due to missing nodes because they where moving nodes to a different location. When stable updates used the box works stable (as I'm told).

I went in sceptical but now I'm impressed by the capabilities. I might switch. I backed homey a while ago and they're going to deliver. So I wait for them and try homey out. If that doesn't work I might make the switch to fibaro. I'm so fed up with zwave sticks hanging, the hs3 interface i might not find it that problematic i loose some freedom. Enver seems to be able to do everything with the fibaro and he has more things automated than i have.

i did use hc2

and the yahoo weather? that is the only thinh you can use
scripts (buienradar etc) you find on this forum can not be used for hc2 (i did not got it to work)

but the biggest disadvantage is that sometimes things don't work on newer firmware, and you can not go back to an older version

i tried them all,
in fact hc is a zwave only device, and that is working fast and realible
but every update you do, there is a change that some things don't work anymore
and you can't install an older firmware version, in my case polling was broken and it took more then one year before it was fixed

I have bought one 2 weeks ago for testing purposes.

Running the latest beta it's stable. Include range is much larger then the usb sticks. Block scenes are easy, lua takes more time.

I'm running, hue, sonos, around 35 z-wave devices, 3 foscams.
