The Ali product is on longer able to be shipped to the Netherlands

https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/4000037046508.html

I'm not 100% sure which other one is exactly the same. I don't want to wait 3 weeks and after that wait again for 3 weeks :-)

Could somebody check the best replacement on Ali?

Thanks for your project oempie

Just search for wemos d1 mini.

Do NOT buy a pro or something. Just the standard.

HA 2022.11 allows to to add the watermeter to the energy configuration. If you use this watermeter of oepi-loepi, adjust your configuration.yaml:
- platform: rest
resource: http://192.168.1.10/water.html
name: watermeter_totaal
value_template: "{{ value_json.waterquantity | float / 1000 }}"
unit_of_measurement: "m³"
device_class: water
icon: mdi:pulse
state_class: total_increasing

And solve the problems in "statistics" (if applicable)

Also the commercial toonWater (see toonwater.nl) has been updated. It also supports the new energy dashboard from the MQTT discovery.

I'm using the commercial toonWater for about a month, and in general am very happy with it. Setup was easy and integrating into Home Assistant through mqtt works well and stable.

However, sometimes the sensor has a strange hickup and my meter readings are off by 10s or sometimes 100+ liter. Looking into the waterflow history in Home Assistant, I notice that the sensor reports a flow of more than 30 L a minute, sometimes even 50+ L a minute and during that period the meter readings are increasing abnormally. In reality, my waterflow is always less than 20 liters a minute.

Could this be a software or hardware issue?

This is hardware. The sensor is above a point of the metal on your meter and the meter or sensor is vibrating causing jitter.

Fix the sensor to meter better to reduce vibration and set the damping to 2000 and pulselength to 700. Therse two filters will help reduce jitter

Thanks, have set them both to your suggested value and will keep an eye on the readings.

Just had another overshoot of 10l.

Should I increase the values?

Ye, set pulselength to 750. Please also contact me by mail or by marktplaats app. Better than by this forum.

New free software release! Only for the free versions (Wemos D1 mini). This version will be the new standard for future releases and i will phase out the first releases.

You can download version 1.4.35 here: https://github.com/oepi-loepi/water_ESP ... 1_mini.bin

Flashing from the menu will not be possible. Update instructions:
[*]Reset the module to factory defaults.
[*]Connect the module to USB and start your favourite flashing utility

If the module will not start after flashing, flash the blank 4MB.bin file first : https://github.com/oepi-loepi/water_ESP ... nk_4MB.bin.

This version has most of the commercial improvements on stability and counter but is limited to beasic features. If you want the full features, please visit Marktplaats : https://www.marktplaats.nl/u/oepi-loepi/43013407/

Heey oepi-loepi
Thnx for the update, will give it a try, can you tell what the difference between basic and full features is? Installed a water meter with pulse contact recently when placing my water softener, so no need for a extra sensor.
But curious what full features means.

Thanks and keep up the good work!
