So 1 questions:
How can I upgrade to 5.49.16?

I don't dare to try to upgrade my Toon2 at this moment.
I a missing the first part of the tsc update log. It should report that the certificates are updated because in the second try it shows that the certificates are already ok.

And still in the second attempt the VPN still doesn't work.
Please try to start the vpn manually (ctrl-c to abort) and paste the logs

Code: Select all

/usr/sbin/openvpn --config /etc/openvpn/vpn.conf

You have same issue as here: viewtopic.php?t=13579
Using the wrong tenant (qutility, a Quby/Eneco old test tenant which isn't working anymore).
You need to switch to the eneco-nl tenant.

Hi,

I get this error when trying to update:

Code: Select all

Welcome to the rooted Toon upgrade script. This script will try to upgrade your Toon using your original connection with Eneco. It will start the VPN if necessary.
Please be advised that running this script is at your own risk!

Version: 4.74  - TheHogNL - 25-04-2022

===================================================================================================================================================================

Only start VPN and then quit
This toon contains old VPN certificates. Need to request new certificates!
We are on a Toon 1 so we need to request new certificates before being able to create a VPN connection...
................+++++
.................................................+++++
New VPN certificate request created and now sending the request to Eneco...
403Failed to request and update the VPN certificates!
403 seems like a Forbidden error but I don't know what and how and why.

Probably you vpn key was already invalidated before for some other reason.
But no need to update your toon1. Nothing new for it :)

Good to know. What about future updates? Or is my Toon too old for anything new?

I wanted to update because I had a problem with an app and maybe, an update could fix it.
But the problem with the app was between the chair and the keyboard :lol: :lol: :lol:

No issue with staying on your current firmware if you ask me.
Looks like the development efforts at Eneco have been reduced to just the minimal bug fixing and technical moves to AWS.
There hasn't been a significant feature update for a long time on Toon.
(Even all the extra hardware sensors on the Toon 2 are still not used by the firmware)

Hello! In my house, I found a Toon thermostat. However, it isn't activated and I don't how long it was without the internet, probably more than 1 year. So, I stuck on the "Installatie Wizard." I can't activate my device because the VPN certificate is expired, and there is no "Activate" button.

So, my question is - can I make a hardware root for it? Generate a new certificate via "update-rooted.sh -c"? And is it possible to use that device with original paid subscription from Eneco?
