I am running on my Toon one the following Firmware: 5.49.19
Yesterday I received in the TSC Menu a popup that a new firmware software is version: 6.3.30

Is it safe to upgrade?

I see on the github dot com site that someone add under toonversions a extra line 6.3.30 so that is properly why MY toon popsup a new version.

no new functionality has been added so there is no need at all to do so.

See it to for the toon2? Do we need to ask the maintainer on github for it or is it save to update? A lot of other base packages also probably get an security update. Maybe need to get a second one just to check.

It is save to update but you dont get any new functionality or security update. The firmware is not actively maintained anymore by Eneco. Recent firmware changes were about vpn certificate changes (Toon 1) and stopping subscription services in a few countries (Belgium, Spain).
