Hello forum members.
Question, is it possible to root an very old Toon 1.
That has been reset to factory settings , and if so.
Can this be done via USB and Windows and PuttY , or via the connections in Toon
With a serial converter to 3 wires TX RX and ground via Windows and PuTTY.
Without a jtag programmer ?
Without linux or pi

You can do it with the jtag pins inside or the tx rx pins inside. But you will need a linux system for that, basicly a raspberry pi.

i have tried to do it with kali linux via wifi on my laptop and on my pc ,but can not create a working hotspot for wifi
so
you mean i can do it via serial rx / tx / ground pins ( 3 wires ) on the Toon 1 and kali linux / rootTerminal / or putty in linux

but when I look at Dennis Bor for example.
he talks about a little knowledge of Linux.
and his pictures seem to me to be in Windows with Putty.

So if I understand you correctly, it has to be done in Linux with Putty? Thanks again, Jan

Inderdaad gaat het in dat geval via de rx en tx via putty seriele verbinding.. gewoon via windows putty dus. Is niet de snelste manier maar werkt wel.

so please explene the next steps for serial programming
What after i loggin in the boot loader ? the text/programss i must put in putty/bootloader for rooting my Toon and get the apps whitout Eneco
so pls make it not so difficult.
