Dutch Home Easy Devices (HE302EU)

"KARWEI" is now selling the Home Easy productline, instead of the previous KlikAanKlikUit productline.

Today I bought some Home Easy HE302EU Remote Control Sockets (appliance modules) with the intention to control it with my RFXCOM device (LAN version, 2 COM ports, 433 tx & rx, Visonic rx slave). The HE302 should be compatible with the newer KAKU "A-series" devices.

However, I don't get it working. I followed the supplied instructions and have read all RFXCOM documentation again, but without any results. I've tried to configure the HE302EU via Homeseer (including the RFXCOM plugin). Steps I followed in Homeseer:

- Checked the settings of the RFXcom plugin. Checkboxes in RF Interfaces: marked at "AC" (both for RX & TX) and "HS".
- Created a new Output device in RFXcom plugin. Device code "L1", Device Type "AC Module", Transmitter 1.
- Set the HE302EU in learning mode by pushing the little switch. Led starts blinking for about 10 seconds
- Sent "ON" command to newly created L1 device within the 10 seconds
- RFXCom TX led (the red one) blinks on transmitting
- HE302EU doesn't give any response

I also tried several commands by using the RFXReceiver and RFXTransmitter programs, but again, same results. It seems the RFXCom device is transmitting, but the HE302EU doesn't listen...

Anybody with hints, tips or advice before I'll return these useless devices?

Regards,

Flexer

Don't know, these are my first 433 MHz devices. My other devices run on the Visonic and Zwave protocol.

I'm not sure were the problem is: on the TX-site (RFXcom) or the RX-site (HE302EU). I've opened one of the HE302EU packages for testing purposes, but I'm hesitating about opening opening up the next one. Maybe my first HE302EU is defective. But I don't want to lower my changes to return those devices by opening and breaking the packages of more incompatible devices....

I noticed the purchased HE302 has the EU label (HE302EU). The device has also a more rectangle shape compared to the KAKU devices, all corners of the house a strict squares. So maybe this is a newer version, incompatible with the RFXCom receiver.

returning to "KARWEI" is never a problem..even when open.

Sometimes i have also problems with transmitting..when i play to much with the interface
restarting the transmitter will solve the problem for me.

Little bit off-topic maybe, but are the new KaKu devices two way? e.g. can you read the status?

All the Kaku devices are one way.
I think they will never change this because of the cost.

I opened up a second package. Also this HE302EU unit isn't working with RFXCOM. Conclusion: Or my RFXCOM transmitter is defective, or there exists a incompatibility in the protocol used by both units, or I'm doing something wrong...

In rfxcom plugin just uncheck all the supported protocols save the settings.
check the settings you want and save this again.
If this not helps just wait for replay from Bert

I've sent flexer an email with a request to call me.

Delete all remotes in the HE302 to be sure there is place enough. Press the program button for >10 seconds until the LED blinks, release the button and press again shortly.

Create in the Homeseer RFXCOM plug-in Output Dev. an AC APPLIANCE,
Press the program button for >10 seconds until the LED blinks,
Send an ON command for the unit from the Homeseer status page.
The HE302 should react now.

Bert, thanks for your answer. I have just sent you an email.

I followed all the steps in your recommendations, but again, no results. But to be sure, you probably mean "AC MODULE" instead of "AC APPLIANCE"? There is nog "AC APPLIANCE" in my picklist...

You are right it is AC MODULE.

If this HE protocol is not supported by the HE302EU you can try this:
- Modify the device and change the device type to APPLIANCE MODULE,
- Enable the ARC protocol on the transmitter (RF Interfaces tab)

Also no succes with your latest suggestions. I suspect the Home Easy EU devices to use a different, unsupported protocol. I returned the HE devices today to KARWEI and will try to find some real KAKU devices (Gamma?).

Thanks to all for the help in the problem determination!
