HVAC: Digimax or RFXCOM?

Hello.
I am using a SC9000 security console and a standard weekly programmable thermostat.

I would like to connect temperature HVAC control to my X10 network.
I have two options:

- buy a Digimax unit and connect it to my SC9000 (is it surely compatible)?
- buy a RFXCOM receiver and a Oregon Scentific temperature sensor.

Which is better? I am using Indigo with an always on mac computer.
In both cases, if I am right, I have to buy also a UM-7206 to control my heating system.
Thank you
Chris

Christian

PS: hai trovato qualche shop economico dove prendere l'hardware x-10?
Hai esperienze in merito?

Ciao ciao!

Hy Christian , about Mac + Indigo i can not help beacuse i'm a "poor" windows user :) :). About sc-9000 i've never heard of a batch production capable to support Digimax. I think the best if to use RFXCOM, USA version too ? I have some doubts because hw is less expensive, but consider ship costs , taxes ... i planned 2-3 times USA shopping , but i've always found a FINAL worst price (different if you travel there and put all in you luggage.....) . About script to delay the "not necessary" on/off that's a good way. If you need some HW -x10 from Italy , i can have some discount from a reseller. Send me a PM.

Hi drmacchi, I cannot send you PM because I have not sent enogh messages in the board.
Pls send me in PM your email and I will wrote you back.

However, buying from USA is really cheap only if you buy large amount of devices. You can pay on ebay 4/5$ for a MS14 unit and so on.

Thank you.
