Problem with manually operating electronic locks

I have installed my Abus doorlock this weekend. Because I have just one keyfob, and my domotica system with a separate RFID system is not ready, I needed to operate the lock manually with a key from the outside. Unfortunately I have apply some much power to turn the cilinder, it is almost impossible to use manually. My girlfriend is not able to open it.

Does anyone using the Abus hometec have the same problem?

Chak, is the Loxx easily operateable from the outside using a regular key? Or do have to turn the cilinder motor to open the door?

Did you replace the cilinder ? - regular cilinders will not allow you to open the door from the outside with a key if there is a key in the lock inside. so you need een nood/gevaren cilinder, look at:

http://www.waakzaamwonen.nl/catalog/ind ... otica-abus

You can integrate the Abus lock with your domotica system by using the Abus keyfob and connect wires to the pushcontacts it is not an easy solder job .... but if you order one at waakzaamwonen ask for this special option

You can open the Loxx easily with a key from the outside because they are using this kind of a cilinder. The key is stored in the keyring remote control.

I have the special cilinder, because I can use 2 keys at a time.

The trouble is, when you turn the outside key it turns the whole (internal) cilinder, turning the key in the Abus enclosure. This means you have to push through the gears of the motor, it is just as heavy as turning the large disc on the Abus enclosure, only doing it from the outside with a small key. This means you have to put a lot of force on the key to make it turn.

For me it's just a bit painful, for my girlfriend it's impossible.

Some explanation in dutch:
Ik voel dat ik met de sleutel aan de buitenkant de Abus motor moet draaien (staat niet aan, maar geeft wel weerstand), nou is het met de schijf aan de binnenkant te doen, maar als je diezelfde kracht uit moet oefenen met een kleine sleutel is het zeer lastig de motor te draaien.

I think I have resolved the issue. After manually unlocking the door, the cilinder motor somehow did not put the gear in neutral. After resetting it, the problem of turning the motor with the key is solved.

I also improved things by firmly mounting the plate to the door, and then loosely mount the Abus lock to the mounting plate just enough for it to stay in place.
