RFXreceiver USB signal strenght??

Yesterday I had to switch my RFXreceiver (USB) from my Sheevaplug to my old NSLU2.

Without changing anything else, it seems that my signal quality has apparently gone up; with the Sheevaplug, some of the remote Oregon sensors were dropping out (sometimes minutes, sometimes hours) on a more or less regular basis. When connected to the NSLU2 this doesn't happen. I already suspected something like this; when I switched a couple of months ago from NSLU2 to Sheevaplug, I had to reposition my RFXreceivers' antennae a couple of times to get better results.

Anyone else has the same experiences? What could be the problem, is the Sheevaplug putting noise on the USB line, or ??

It is possible (but not allowed) that a device transmits RF noise at 433.92MHz.
Hold the Sheevaplug close to the antenna and I suppose you will have bad receivings.

Well, at the moment, the Sheevaplug is dead (which was the reason for switching back to my good old NSLU2). I will try to experiment once I've got it replaced. On the other hand, the antenna was a full cable length away from the Sheevaplug.

It would be nice if the RFXreceiver had an option to provide (received) signal strength (maybe as a pseudo sensor??).

I've received my repaired Sheevaplug and done some tests, I don't think it's noise; if the sheevaplug is powered on and close to my nslu2 which is still connected to the rfxreceiver I don't have any issues. The moment I connect the sheevaplug to the rfxreceiver I experience degraded reception; the sensors that are further away are not well received.

Any ideas what could be the root cause?

--- UPDATE ---
Looks like the Sheevaplug generates noise on the USB connection; I've tried several cables to no avail, but putting a passive USB hub in the middle seems to filter the apparent noise; I'm now receiving all my sensors again.
