Sun screen with zwave

Post by Wim2008 »

I like to buy a new sun screen this summer.
Has someone some information/experience about zwave and a sun screen, that can controlled with homeseer with sensors like wind, rain and sun?

Is there a person who can tell something about a new sunscreen for outside which will be working with zwave?
Somfy has several screens with motors. Which one must I choose to connect with a zwave connector.
I like also to control this sunscreen with events in homeseer.

Best regards Wim :)

I think your best bet is to order a sunscreen without remote control that is being operated with a wall switch.
This way you will get a bunch of wires on which you can connect a solution like zwave, marmitek, kaku. I don't think that you will find another solution that can communicate directly to the somfy wireless solution and that is also homeseer compatible.

I also bought 2 sunscreens without wireless capabilities. instead of the wallswitch I connected a KAKU SUN-500 module. Works fine and is future proof.

All my screens are zwave controlled..just normal screens.
For some of them I have even no switch inside
Duwi Zwave screen controle is outside built in a IP 65 box.

For wind and rain the I'm going to use oreagon sensors.
For the sun still looking for a good klx sensor.

That's very interesting, this two minute story. I have several sun screens around my house, and I have attached all to Merten switches. Most of them work perfectly, but two (both multiple screens switched together) do function once and after two minutes close by themselves. Seems to me that this could be related to the power down after two minutes.

I had contact with a z-wave specialist from Merten and he advised me to buy some Merten relais instead of the currently installed relais.
Now I'm not so sure that it would be related to the relais, but maybe two different motors are being used...

These are screens of Verano, not sure which motor is used. Perhaps I will go to the distributor tomorrow and will ask him (should I ask whether this is a continuous one or should I ask something else?)...

It should be a motor with puls or continue power. I understand that there is for puls also 230V and lower voltages.
Where did you buy the sunscreen?

I did buy them in Belgium (www.verano.be), but I can't find any details on the site, just general information...

The details are always difficult to see by sunscreens. It looks like they don't like to share technical information.
