you need a wire to power the lamp, not only neutral

Dear Akatar.

thanks for your reply, i will try the following scenario today:

DUWI
1 Live -----> LIVE (brown wire)
2 Switched ----> Neutral Lamp (black wire)
3 Neutral
4 Neutral -> Neutral -> (blue wire)

so thats why the switch did not work ,, mmmm lets try it and find out.

If this is the way to connect it i will post a picture how to connect the duwi switch so if someone else has the same question they will end up at this thread and have a graphic instruction :)

Just to make the naming correct:
DUWI
1 Live -----> LIVE (brown wire)
2 Switched ---->Live Lamp (black wire)
3 Neutral ---> Neutral Lamp (blue wire) (can also be the already available bleu wire at the lamp box.
4 Neutral -> Neutral -> (blue wire)

Well, i sure have done it now.
This morning i was rudely woken up by the fire-alarm, hence the electric smell coming from the electric installation in my closet.....

this afternoon an electrician is visiting our home to confirm there is no problem with the wiring and or electric switches. but this is quite a disappointment in general (problably caused by my own inexperience. but still.

there are only ! 3 wires to connect when i take out the switch
1 Brown - Live
2 Black
3 Blue - Neutral

therefor i;ve connected 3 wires to the duwi switch

in the manual it states that 1 live wire (brown) and 2 neutral wires . thats it in the previous post it states that 4 wires need to be connected .

well this is it now i'me completely lost :cry:

by the way this is the switch we are talking about .

does anyone have this exact type of switch and have connected it in their house , please contact me (dutch or english) i need help badly!

On the display of the switch there are:
N
N
~
L

N and N are the same. N = Neutral = Blue
L = Live = Brown
~ = Black -> to the light.

The light should have blue and black. Black goes to the switch. Blue is Neutral.

So in schematics:

Code: Select all

      |-  light -|
      b          b
      l          l
      a          u
      c          e
      k          |
      |          |
      |          -------------------------------------> closet
       ------- ~  switch --- L ------- brown ---------> closet
                         --- N ------- blue ----------> closet
The blue one to the switch is needed to power the switch (because it has electronics in it), but the brown one will be connected to the black one when you turn on the light.
You could test the light by just connecting the brown cable with the black one.
