Doorspy cam -> LAN
Hi,
Question, is there someone that have some experience with Doorspy cam's like this link.
That has a LAN connection, so i have not use a extra converter for video to LAN.
I like to hear it.

I've been looking in to this also, however I didn't order a camera yet as quality seems to be questionable. So far I decided not to go for the 380 lines version, but at least 420 lines. Also a large angle is important in my situation.
Next to the one you've posted I've been looking at these alternatives:

Re: Doorspy cam -> LAN
Is there a mini cam with lan connection?
Re: Doorspy cam -> LAN
I know that Axis have a mini video encoder for lan that can connect to a little pinhole cam -> http://www.eyespypro.com/products/AXIS- ... coder.html
But this one is not for use in a door.

There are two covert packages from Axis, just the M7001 and the M7001 with a small camera. The quality is quit good, however the camera is not very small (fingertip). I managed to squash it in a smoke detector.
I just bought an Axis 241Q on Marktplaats so I think I'll order the pinhole camera and attach both camera's to it.
As far as I know there are no easy LAN solutions for a doorspy cam.

Re: Doorspy cam -> LAN
I just installed the Doorspy cam from http://www.bewakingscameraspecialist.nl (Spyshop).
I'm not so sure about the 150 degree angle, but so far the quality is not too bad. The build quality is typically chinese... good enough. I had to put in some spacers because my door is about 4cm thick so it sticks out a bit. But on the other side, it is still less then advertised. If you have a thick door, the back will only stick out 2cm, I had to install an extra 1,5cm of spacers.
Here are some images from today, one at sunset (snapshot from Synology recording) and one at night (snapshot from live view). I'll put up some more later on.

Re: Doorspy cam -> LAN
@post-it, and is it also a night cam that is IR sensitive?

I think that a USB "Snake Camera" will also work. (see: http://bit.ly/l7O2Ph )
You can connect the "Snake Camera" to a (Belkin) Network USB hub to make it accessable over IP

The Belkin network USB Hub I have, the first generation, does not support webcams (isochronous devices).

Re: Doorspy cam -> LAN
I haven't tested the camera with an IR lamp or something, and it's already fixed on the door. There are no IR leds in the lens, so if it is too dark you'll need a separate IR lamp.
As you can see on the screenshots, I'm lucky to have permanent lighting outside with three PLC 11W (two facing, one just next to the camera).
The only thing so far is the image quality, I expected more...
