Doorbot Wi-Fi enabled doorbell w/camera

I came across this new development, a battery operated Wi-Fi doorbell with camera.

I just wonder how long the batteries will last in practice..WiFi?

according specs 1 year, but i doubt that.
but you can easily connect it to power if you place it at current doorbell location.
seems a nice product, but not much info on the site regarding specs of the camera etc.
Also nothing about an API (needed for us!)

In one of the answers the developer states he will release an api. So this is good News. I'm looking for a doorbell/cam to use with homeseer for a while. Still havent found an affordable solution. I hope the camera quality will be ok, than this is a good option.

Should be with you for a couple of months now, how is it working?
Nightvision? Response times? Can you connect a audible bell?
