i saw in the amarican apple shop a lot more hue lamp models as in europe.

store.apple.com/us/product/HD617VC/A/ph ... arter-pack

my hue gives a voltage of 220-240. i think the amrican lamps can't be used in europe or has someone experience with this.
they are also cheaper.

it isnt a strange question , all the ac dc transformerss i buy now have an input range of 100 -300 volts so it would be logical to suppose that philips hue lamps uses the same technology and what also makes me thinking is that the voltage isnt printed on the lamps .

labium,

strange a few weeks ago i also saw the "kleine fitting" downlights but they disappeared in the NL applestore. And you are correct that its strange that we pay more then the US buyers..

regarding the hues compatibility for europe. Im not sure but i think it should be compatible. however dont know if there are zigbee frequency differences?

regards

bart

i did some www investigations: google

so the zigbee frequency is no problem. i knew it : if a transmitter has a fcc number it is allowed in the us and must complie to their rules.

i can t find the hue bridge the fcc database id EW780-8913-00. apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericS ... romFrame=N

i found on amazon.com : amazon.com/Philips-431643-Personal-Wire ... uctDetails : 2400 - 2483.5 MHz frequency band

Apparently those US bulbs work on 220 Volts

They do work but as the transformer circuits are different for US/EU the bulbs will die faster.
That's what is said at http://www.everyhue.com at least.
