I am looking for a security system combined with home automation.
The Powermax Pro seems a good choice, in combination with the X10 interface XM10E. But I want to control more than 15 adresses. Is it possible to replace the XM10E by the CM15Pro, or do I need both appliances?
Thanks for your help,
Geert-Jan

Geert-Jan,
Welcome to this forum.
Visonic can control 15 X10 devices....but Visonic is not a good controlling device for domotica.
The limitation of 15 is not in XM10E but in the Visonic.
Direct connection from Visonic to CM15Pro is not possible as far as I know.

Thanks Chak,
Could you recommend the combination of Visonic/XM10E and CM15Pro, or is (later on) a combination with Visonic/XM10E and Homeconrolbox better?
And do you knwo if the micromudules of Marmitek can be adresses by the Visonic/XM10E?
Thanks again,
Geert-Jan

Geert-jan,
Visonic/Xm10E works fine as alarm system and basic domotica control.
Visonic/Xm10E can address every x10 device including micromodules from marmitek.
Most of the user here are using Xanura module. The new line is much better including support (replacement when they stop working)
Homcontrolbox is also more focusing on xanura modules
HCB and CM15 are totally not comparable.
To make comparable you need extra software for the CM15 like Homeseer + PC.
If domotica is not going to be your hobby you better focus on HCB.
For the hobby there are lot of good alternatives.
Homeseer Software
PC Interface PMIX35 / CTX35
RFXcom
and lot of other interesting products.

Thanks a lot!
I'll start with experiments on Powermax-pro/XM10E, en then decide how further.
Hope to speak more to (all of) you,
Geert-Jan

Re: powermax pro and Marmitek CM 15 Pro
Hi,
Why can't the Powermax Pro and CM15Pro not work together ?
You could send out X10 messages from the Powermax Pro and trigger macro's on the CM15Pro no ?
When you select the house-code onthe Visonic unit and have defined 1 unit, so example B1.
Then create a macro in CM15Pro that is triggered by B1 and then performs eg a light switch actuator ON on the address A1 or something.
eg. I want to have the Powermax Pro switch on exerior lights when an outdoor sensor sees something.
I define the zone "garden" as not really an alarm zone, but a zone that merely switches on an applicance.
HOWEVER, I only want to do it in the nightly hours EVEN when the Powermax is not armed.
To me, the Powermax cannoit accomplish this "nativly" I guess ?
A CM15Pro macro triggered by B1 could accomplish this?
