I'm using the venta airwasher for over 2 years now

http://www.venta.nl/showpage.asp?docid=1 (Dutch)

The livingroom is about 7*10, L-shaped and the venta raises the humidity with 10% in a 24 Hour period. An additional benefit is that it also cleans the air. after a party (and people are still allowed to smoke [:)]) I let the airwasher run at full speed, and the day after you don't smell the smoke anymore.

It is not remote controlled but you can obviously use an x10 device. However I need to refill (almost 10 liters) every day , and that is something I haven't automated (yet [:D])

@Jeffke: Which model do you have? And how much noise does it make?

Rene.

Hi Rene

I'm using the LW24 at the moment. I tried the LW44 as well, but the effect was almost the same (Pro: smaller so easier to hide, con: need to refill more often) On the highest speed (3) you can compare the noise with a table fan running on lowest speed

Anyone using the Boneco 2055D humidifier / aircleaner? I consider buying one.

The 2055D is cheaper than the Venta LW44 and costs about the same as the LW24.

I also intend to integrate the unit with the domoticasystem to switch it on/off when needed (X10).
