SAIX is not going in program mode

Post by TANE »

Hi all,
I have two SAIX modules they stop working. after few months
Can't find the reason. Both modules were used in the same location.

When I tray to re program them they are not going in the programing mode.
The red led is going on when i press the programming button and going off after releasing it no matter how long i press the button.

HI Chak,
What do you mean with "Both in the same location"?
Where the modules placed very close together, like really close?

Hi Pieter,
I mean is the second replacement.
the first one give up few months ago.

When the unit is not going in programming mode means this that the unit is defect?

OK
If you disconnected the unit from the mains for a while and try it again after reconnect and still not able to enter in to programming mode the unit is likely defect. Not much you can do, hope you still have warranty? The question is why does this unit go defect for the second time in the same place.

Pieter,
Behind the SAIX there is halogen spot
In my house i have 4 other spots (all same) they are all behind SAIX or DAX10
Others did not have any problem.

Hi Chak,
I must admit that I had some problems (defect Module) more then ones with also Halogen light behind it.
Then again other halogen are working without problems. Perhaps it's the type of trafo etc which causes the problems, or just bad luck? This is very hard to find out. Replace the one (hope its warranty) and lets see what it does.

I had several defect SAIX(they all broke within a year). After contacting Holec, they replaced them all(which is nice)
They told me that there was a bad range of SAIX, maybe you have one of them....

SAIX is not going in program mode

Post by DMB »

The first range of Xanura modules (including the SAIX) of the beginning of 2003 did have a problem with a elco in the powersupply (1 uF, 400V).

Holec replaced also my bad modules, but I've also had problems after the replacement.

The DAIX10 is the only module without the powersupply problem according to me. This module was introduced mid 2003.

The replacement is done...

Control via AIX for controlling two units.
I the Halogen a DAIX10 module.(DIX10 was better...)
Dimming can only be done remotely.

Hope Holec will send the replacement units.
I have good experience with there services, they replaced my CIX.
