Wireless 433 MHz doorbell

I replace my standard doorbell with a 433mhz wireless from Conrad.
I have chosen this one because it has a very good and loud enough sound quality. And best of all it's easy to connect this doorbell to home automation.
In the sender (doorbell pushbutton) the is a solid switch which has much better contacts then a traditional one.
So very simple remove the old doorbell and connect the 2 wires to new switch (photo) together with a Diode, otherwise it won't work properly.
The existing wire you can use the connect to an input output module like the RFXcom, IPPower, Poseidon etc, or in my case connect it to a Visonic MCT-100 (photo).
The distance it can reach according to the manual is 200 meter, we all know thats not the case. But mostly all the devices are within 5 meters, so no problems with that. In my case (until now) the doorbell is working perfect and the images are still appearing on bwired http://www.bwired.nl/Doorimages.asp

If you look very good, you can even see that the LED is on (only when pushed).
The bell has 8 melodies to choose from, even a dog is in there [:)]
The Melody can only be changed from within the doorbell pushbutton, so not very handy! But for the freaks it's possible to connect a wire the that seperate microswitch as well and change the melody automatic as well [:D]

i want a doorbell, which i can change the melody to my own melody.. so like pieters but then with my own spacy tunes

You don't need 230v mains.
I think they are not that different but the sound quality for sure is much better. You can check the sound out on the Conrad site.
I use this one for in the hallway and 2 kaku's, 1 in my office and 1 in the kitchen.

I think that is the Dog

It would be possible to set that one when only the alarm is active.
So if somebody pushes your doorbell and you are not at home, the dogs start barking.

Is it possible to easily connect the IPPower on the receiver side instead of on the switch?

I did not open it, but I think it will not be easy, there will only be a 433mhz receiver module as input.
But you can connect to the switch also when its not mounted at your door.
1 IO for changing the the melody, each click is one sound ahead [:)]
1 IO for actually activating the bell

@Erik: I dont like the praxis pushbuttons, they are way to big!

Will the Visonic receiver detect when the push is very short?

What are the component that we need for visonic?

I tested it like hundred times and every time it worked, sometimes I did not hear the doorbell but the Visonic was blinking.
Check the microswitch on the image above, its much more reliable (less dendering

) I guess.
Also the button which is pushing the microswitch is very close towards it.
You need a simple "DIODE" and place it as on the image (watch the thin grey line marked on the diode). You need to connect the diode to one of inputs of the Visonic MCT-100, only one setup will work, but you can switch without damaging.
I will keep you posted if I miss a doorbell log, I think it will occur sometime because its not waterproof, as no solution is, the question is which one is most reliable

Yesterday I have installed the Conrad doorbell
Including all the modification's

2 contacts for the frontdoorbel (like to use my existing one)
2 contacts for Visonic MCT302
2 contacts for changing the tune.

All was working fine.....
Last night it did wake me up twice. It was a strange tune..like the one that NS is using for announcements.

After the second wakeup at 4 am I removed the batteries..grrrr
Conrad version is working on 433 Mhz...not sure this is the problem.

Very strange, i never had this?
What i have is that when its very cold, sometimes the bell does not work.
So its working now since nov-2009
And yes its on 433.....

I must admit the design is a lot better then the fs20 stuff.
Price is about the same, and both work on the 868,35MHz band.

Conrad sells only the fs20sig. If you want a cheaper option on the 868MHz check out the fs20fg and fs20tk on elv.de. Yes, elv is a fan of selling each part seperately

I might give this doorbell option a try too. Is there an option to have multiple ringers behind 1 pushbutton? Reason being I want to have 1 in the livingroom/ closet and 1 upstairs, but the options to turns the upstairs one off when our son is sleeping.
