Automating TV Lift

Hi all,

I just bought a TV-lift from www.flatlift.de . I would like to bypass the RF remote control to make a hardwired control (unles rfxcom would support it). I am by no means an electrician and would like to have some suggestions on what hardware to use to get it done. Preferrably homeseer compatible.

Attached is a scan of the flatlift manual, it says i need to connect 2 potential free contacts and they have to swith for the time the lift needs to go up and down (approx. 15 seconds).

This module can be controlled by the RFXCOM transmitter.

I think you mean page 14 of the manual 2 potential free relays.

looks like a rfx extender for the pronto tsu9600 .. then again you can also use one of those and get the remote to go with it.

Thanks for the suggestions, while the pronto extender looks nice that's all "over-budget" so I'll try the sun500 first. I'm already using an IR-trans module and a com-server to control my av-equipment, the pronto extender has it all though. But are these extenders programmable and usable with other means than a pronto remote?

If those extenders would work via pc or other means it would have been an even greater product but for the moment they dont.

The KaKu sun-500 is working like a charm, now just wait till my rfxcom transmitter arrives so i can mount it in my rfxcom ethernet box.

I currently have a x10 receiver (master) and visonic receiver (slave) in it, the last slot will have the transmitter.

For now the x10 receiver is attached to the antenna, the visonic is not (just the jellow wire antenna is sticking out the hole)... is this the normal situation, or should I also connect the visonic wire (and the transmitter) to the antenna?

The receiver for Visonic normally doesn't need another antenna then the yellow wire.
The transmitter is certified with a wire antenna and it is officially not allowed to mount another antenna. It is possible that the range will increase with another antenna and your neighbors are not happy then.

And what should I do with the x10 transmitter I ordered? Will it need a connection to the antenna?

The transmitter I referred to is the X10 transmitter. So use the standard delivered wire antenna mounted on the X10 transmitter and all is OK.

The transmitter arrived today and all is working like a charm. Can't wait to have the lift installed in my new HT furniture.

One more question for Bert:

Using Homeseer and RFXcom plugin, I've created a device 'M1' wich is the KAKU Sun-500. I've set the X10 "M" code to status only. When I use a KAKU remote to operate the TV-lift the receiver does receive the remote for about 60% of the time. So the status of the lift isn't always correct. My X10 receiver is version 16, my visionic receiver is version 8B.

Will an updated version improve reception of the KAKU remote?

There are a lot of improvements and additions to your receiver version 16.

A better option is probably to choose a different code between the remote and the KAKU unit. This way the KAKU unit is controlled by a command from HS and the status is then correct.
Remote M1 ==>> HS event on M1 transmits M2 ===>> SUN500 M2
