Interference from plasma TV and receiver

Post by stefxx »

Hi,

Im am having some problems with my Xanura modules, and found the source of my problems: my plasma TV and my receiver. When both are switched off, everything works fine (even on standby). When the TV is on, or the receiver is on, it still works fine. However, when both are one, a lot of modules are responding erratically or not at all.

I have 2 Marmitek filter modules (FM10), so I thought I could solve this easily by filtering both the TV and the receiver. But it does not seem to make a difference. The problems are still the same

What should be the next step? Are those Marmitek modules not good enough? Is there better filtering equipment required? Is there anything else I could be overlooking?

Thanks!

I just tried an SFX40 (which I bought to install in the fuse closet later on) and put it between the wall outlet and the TV and receiver. It helps a little, most modules can be found again but a lot of them come up as 'controleer' in my PMIX35.

It seems that the SFX40 is a lot better filter then the Marmitek FM10. However, the SFX40 is really a piece of DIN equipment, not suitable (not safe) for this kind of operation...

Anyone has a better idea?

I've the same problem with my plasma TV.
For some reason I started to have problems with some units. It started happening some days ago.
I have had this plasma for some time now, and before all was working fine !

The 'ferietkern' (Chaks info) did not work for me.

I already use ferietkernen on both ends of the power cable for both the plasma TV and receiver. Doesn't help at all unfortunately.

I have/had the thing, solution for me was to use 2 FM10 modules in serie. So Plug one FM10 into the other and hook up all your recievers etc to the 2xFM10 and into the wall socket.

My LCD, Reciever, HTPC and Wii are setup like this. I have the PMIX35 in the socket next to it and it recieves almost anything. I know not the best way to go, I'm waiting to get a USB to UTP connection so the PMIX will get and send in the 'meterkast'.

Try it, and maybe even with three or more. Basically the FM10 is a very long extender cable, so you can go as 'far away' as you like :)

Today I received the FM10 (this one: http://www.waakzaamwonen.nl/catalog/pro ... ter-plugin )
and yes it did fix the Plasma TV problem :)

I'm also having a problem with my laptop power supply. When plugen in the main power, the SAIX12 next to it does not respond anymore. I tested the FM10 also with the power supply, but this did not help :(

(off topic. I orderd the stuff yesterday (late) from Waakzaamwonen, and received it today!!!)
