Hi,
I'm new to this forum and inexperienced in domotica.
I would like to connect my Visonic Powermax+ alarm system to z-wave modules, for the purpose of switching on some lights/devices in my home. My alarm system does not support z-wave. It does support X-10, but I don't want to go in that direction.
My system does have to programmable 12V outputs. One is triggered by the alarm event and is normally used for turning on an external sirene of flashlight. The other output can be programmed to respond to certain other events.
I would like to use the Merten 506004 (Z-wave transmitter with 4 contacts, potential-free) and connect it to my alarm system's 12V output using a relais/relay. When the 12V is on, the relais would close it's switch, thus closing the circuit on the Merten 506004, causing it to send out an "On" signal. When the 12V turns off, the relais opens and the 506004 would send an "Off" signal.
I would like to use a Düwi Z-Wave Insert Switch to respond to this event, so I can turn on a lamp . Additionally, I would like to use an Everspring AN1572 Z-Wave "Tussenstekker" or Lamp module to switch a lamp.
My Questions:
1. Does anyone have any experience with the Merten 506004? Does it work as intended?
2. Are the Merten 506004, the Duwi Insert Switch and the Everspring Lamp module compatible? Does anyone have any experience with these devices?
3. Do I need anything to connect these devices together or to program them?
4. Can anyone recommend a suitable relais/relay switch for my purpose?
Many thanks in advance.
Kind regards.
Sotten

Re: Merten 506004 compatible with Düwi / Everspring
Hi.
Here is, what I know.
1. I have tried it, I found it mischievous.
2. I have tried all 3 devices. I have not tried them together, but they all work with my z-wave devices. So I am quite convinced, that they work together.
3. You can connect them direct. You don't need anything else.

Morten

Thank you Morten
What went wrong with the 506004? Is there any alternative to this device (I was thinking of modifying a Duwi wall switch by soldering a wire onto each end of the switch and connecting those wires to my relais.
)

Hi Sotten.
It just didn't react the same way every time i set it up. I don't like that. (You can read my experiences here http://zwaves.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?f= ... 2145#p2145 in danish. So Google translate.
)
If you just want a simple on/off, you can use a Everspring door sensor. In Denmark they are sold by Flex-Control.
I made a little "mod" with a danish FUGA switch, witch you can see here. http://zwaves.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=587. There is no need for soldering in this setup.
It is ready for the wire.

Re: Merten 506004 compatible with Düwi / Everspring
Thanks Morten,
I read about the Everspring doorswitch in a US forum, where a US-zwave Everspring doorswitch was suggested. I didn't know there was a EU version on the market. Seems like the simplest solution. Any tips on a suitable 12V relais?

Relays are above my skills.
