Hello all,
I'm currently on holiday in the states and bought an iPad. Has anybody experience with screenprotectors?
Are there bad protectors around (that damage the iPad), is a screen protector needed when using a sleeve?
Any other tips for accessories are welcome.

Re: iPad accessories
I'm not using a screen protector, i think screen does not get scratched easy.
I do have the apple icase, works good for me.
Hope you will love the Ipad like I do

The best screen-protectors so far are the antiglare version from PowerSupport (powersupportusa.com). These are very good against fingerprints, and have the best balance between screen clarity and antiglare.
I bought my PowerSupport screen-protectors for the first iPhone at the US Apple stores a few years back, so I think the PowerSupport brand should still be there (green paper/cardboard blisters).
Because I didn't have a trip planned to the US soon, I just ordered my PowerSupport sets for my iPad and iPhone 4G through their website a few days ago because they are not sold in shops here in The Netherlands (just the 3G version through the online Apple store).
Both web-shops have high shipping-costs, so try to get them at the local US Apple store or order for all your friends at once to reduce shipping.
If you want an alternative, look for the United SGP’s Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint Film (iPad only). I haven't had those in my hands yet, but they seem to be as good as PowerSupport looking at protection or fingerprints. The difference is they use a special coating for the anti-fingerprint which results in a little less screen clarity compare to PowerSupport (milkier effect)
P.S. take your time to put it on! It takes about 10 minutes of patience, but it's worth it. Here are a few tips:
Tip 1: Do it near the sink or in the bathroom and turn on the hot water. The steam will reduce dust flying around.
Tip 2: Use MagicTape (or a Post-IT) to remove little dust specks while you are putting it on. The MagicTape is strong enough to pull the dust from the sticky side of the screen-protector but it doesn't pull of the sticky layer. If you see a dust speck, pull the protector back a little, slip a piece of MagicTape between the screen and protector, push it down and pull the tape away to remove the dust and continue to roll it down on the screen.
Tip 3: start on the long side of the screen, the change of putting it on straight is higher
Tip 4: roll off the protective film while you are applying the film. This way there is less time for dust to hit the sticky layer, and you don't have to touch the sticky layer to hold the film while you are busy.
Hope this helps!
