Is my Toon broken? :(
Hello everyone, since today my Toon is losing wifi all the time.. Distance to AP is very close. All other devices work perfect.. Rebooted my Ubiquiti ofcours rebooted Toon. (and adapter removal)
And just to be sure rebooted my PI with domoticz that is reading Toon all the time..
When i reboot Toon it connects fine and my Ubiquiti says 99% signal strength when i open a ping (loop) it works like for 10 minutes? and then the connection is gone.
It worked perfect for months and now today this happened.. Any idea if hardware is broken or software issue?

Try with a LAN cable and if that works it is probably your wifi chip which is failing.

What did you set up in the Unifi Controller?Tweak wrote:Hello everyone, since today my Toon is losing wifi all the time.. Distance to AP is very close. All other devices work perfect.. Rebooted my Ubiquiti ofcours rebooted Toon. (and adapter removal)

I have Ubiquiti hardware myself and noticed that you need to minimalize the settings of the Wifi the Toon connects to.
Don't:
- Enable Fast Roaming
- Combine Name/SSID
I've created an seperate Wifi network specially for the Toon: Unifi_IoT which created Unifi_IoT_24 automatically
Connected the Toon to the Unifi_IoT_24 network
Re: Is my Toon broken? :(
Damnit, im going to try it but i think its the wifi module.. Expensive Toon.. got it @ 9-10-2019 :/ (from marktplaats)
But wait, i remember from the rooting that module is replaceable ?

Re: Is my Toon broken? :(
I only have 1 SSID and only 1 acces point. Enable fast roaming where can i find it? I think that is not on.. And again it worked fine for months.
Edit, changed 5GHZ to other SSID so Toon will connect to the 2.4 same problem.
Balancing is turned off.
Upgrade the SP to new software same problem.
UTP cable in Toon and reboot and works fine.
Broken module? Does someone know wich one i need to look for?

Not sure it is broken but as you didn't change anything that looks to be it. If you contact me in privmsg I could send you a wifi module.Tweak wrote:I only have 1 SSID and only 1 acces point. Enable fast roaming where can i find it? I think that is not on.. And again it worked fine for months.

Check your "auto optimize" setting in Unifi. That option causes a lot of drops in wifi devices.
Homey, rooted Toon 1 and HomeAssistent.

New Unifi interface:Tweak wrote:Where can i find that setting? And offtopic.. Hans B from Grave?hansgrave wrote:Check your "auto optimize" setting in Unifi. That option causes a lot of drops in wifi devices.
Settings > Network Settings > Optimizations > Auto-Optimize Network
Old Unifi interface:
Settings > Site > Auto-Optimize Network
I have this option turned on, Works OK with multiple Toon's in house.

The Unifi optimize setting at my home makes Homey and Toon offline
Homey, rooted Toon 1 and HomeAssistent.
