second rfxcom transmitter/receiver

I have some trouble in receiving proper signals from the rfxcom in the attic. The rfxcom (LAN interface)is placed in the meterkast downstairs.
I doubt that an extended antenna will work.

I wonder if i can just buy a second transmitter/receiver with wlan interface which I can install in the attic.
Can I configure a second rfxcom in the homeseer plugin?

You can connect up to 4 receiver interfaces to Homeseer.
