Below mentioned question is one of the posts that have been lost due to the crash Pieter talked about. Therefore, hereby my question again:
I am the owner of a Marmitek SC9000 console (see for specs the Marmitek site www.marmitek.com)
As my present doorbell is old, noisy and producing a very irritating sound, I would like to use my console as a doorbell.
Turning my alarm console on produce a one-tone sound, turning it off produces a two-tone sound. This two-tone is also produced when a door or window (equipped with a door/window sensor Marmitek DS90)turns open and the alarm is turned off. When the alarm is turned on, the door/window sensor triggers the alarm.
Now, this two-tone sound of the console is what I want to hear when someone is using my doorbell.
Can anybody tell me if (and how) it is possible and what device(s) I need?
Hope to hear from you...
How can I use my alarm SC9000 as a doorbell?

Hi Rolex,
Sorry for the lost topic!
Your question is not easy. I'm not sure if there is a solution for the way you want it, I also don't know the Marmitek SC9000 alarm console that well. You could adjust and connect a door sensor to the bell button, but then you have a problem when somebody rings your bell and the alarm is on. I don't think it is possible to program different behavior in the SC9000?
You really need some extra hardware like an X10 controller (CM11 or CTX35). Is the SC9000 the only X10 hardware you have?

I use the same console but i use also Homeseer and a lot of other stuff so that makes it a litle bit easy.
What you can do is to connect the doorbell switch to a doorsensor and programm it on adres 20 or higher in your console.
Adres 20 and higher only react when the alarm console is in arm away mode.
So you must then use the arm home mode.
For that option you must have a special controller like the ABX 3 from Xanura.
A normal keyfob can't do that.
