Add Harmony 895 ?

Post by jmwiersma »

I currently have a z-wave network with some devices, a Z-wave usb stick and homeseer.
This works well, and i can use homeseer to control and read the devices.

Now i like to add a Harmony 895.

How do i include this device into the current z-wave network ?

Unfortunately a Harmony 895 always needs to be primary controller.
I also own one, but haven't found a way yet to include a secondary controller in the Harmony's network.

I've read that there's also a 'pro' version of this remote which can act as secondary controller, but it seems to be scarcely available.

Harmony is no longer supporting zwave on there new remotes.

You can control device with harmony 895...but HS can't access the devices any more.

Currently I'm testing the Nevo S70...this one works fine.

Nevo S70?
Nice piece of hardware, but with a retail price of $1200 it's 'somewhat' out of my scope.

I think I'll focus on extending my home server with a Z-wave controller and equip my AV-closet with something like IRTrans.
Tie it together with some custom made software and I can use my cellphone to control everything.

I have given up on my Harmony 895. I don't use it.

I am trying the Remotec ZURC550. http://www.homeestore.com/index.php/en/ ... urer_id=28

The Z-Wave part functions well. But the buttons react a little slow.

I haven't tried the IR yet. I can not find the IR device list anyware.

That is a major disappointment. :( I really love my 895. It controls all my living-room AV stuff (radio, tv, media-center, etc..) For a 'clean look' in the living-room, I use the RF-extender. Works great.

Any IR-to-Zwave modules available ?
